Licences the studio holds

Pragmatic Play is on record as holding: Malta Gaming Authority, UK Gambling Commission, PAGCOR — historical, and no longer current. An operator licence and a studio licence are different things, since the studio one covers the company making the games and not the casino offering them, and a player’s recourse goes through the operator’s regulator, not the studio’s.

• Malta Gaming Authority — Pragmatic Solutions MT Limited stands behind licence MGA/B2B/619/2018. Pragmatic’s site says nothing of it, but the MGA’s own verification portal lists the casino-vertical B2B Critical Supply Licence as Licensed.
• UK Gambling Commission — The UKGC public register confirms active status for account 56015, licence 056015-R-332216-005 — Pragmatic Play (Gibraltar) Limited.
• PAGCOR — historical, and no longer current — Holding a PAGCOR offshore gaming licence became public knowledge for Pragmatic Play back in September 2016. By 31 December 2024, the Philippines required every offshore licence under that framework to lapse, and PAGCOR has since confirmed the cancellations. Dating from 2016, the announcement has stayed online and keeps being referenced as though it were current. It is not.

Whether Pragmatic Play publishes RTP

An RTP quoted for one of its titles can be traced to the studio and not to an aggregator, because Pragmatic Play publishes a return-to-player figure on its own game pages.

One published RTP per title is all Pragmatic’s game pages show, always the highest figure in a set. Three configurations the operator can pick from turn up in independent records for most titles — Gates of Olympus 1000 spans 96.50, 95.51 and 94.50 per cent, Sweet Bonanza 1000 spans 96.53, 95.52 and 94.51 per cent — and Pragmatic never lists the lower two on its own pages. An operator’s live RTP setup could easily differ from the quoted Pragmatic figure, which simply names the top configuration Pragmatic makes available.

This matters more than it sounds. Without a primary source behind it, a return-to-player figure proves nothing, and that includes a number that comparison sites keep repeating to one another.
